Job Title: Business Intelligence System Developer
Location: Houston, TX
Duration: 6+ Months
 
Job Description:
Under management direction, the Systems Developer will maintain and support management information systems, enterprise applications and application solutions for the Federal Reserve System.   The Systems Developer will be required to develop and maintain SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages and SQL Server Reporting Services Report Definition Language (RDL) files. The Systems Developer will be required to document business requirements, perform fit/gap analysis, write design specifications, perform systems testing and query creation and train end-users on functionality.  Additional duties include production support and troubleshooting, root cause analysis, recommending system use to improve processes and creating functional documentation for the Federal Reserve System.
                                                 
The Systems Developer will be responsible for the following:
•         Work with the Enterprise Facilities Management Team to build custom interfaces and reports for a computerized maintenance management system
•         Act as a liaison between the Enterprise Facilities Management Team, vendors and end-users
•         Research vendor products to stay current on new and existing functionality
•         Gather and translate functional requirements into technical design documents
•         Document current business processes and develop recommended re-engineered business processes
•         Identify and support integrations between systems
•         Develop and execute test scripts as necessary
•         Develop and coordinate training, including development of training materials, user procedures and training curriculum; conduct training sessions as necessary; develop and maintain user documentation, implementation, and maintenance plans.
•         Troubleshoot production support issues and conduct root cause analysis, which may include activities such as writing audit queries through SQL
•         Adhere to standards and policies for functional and technical documentation and implementation methodology
•         Coordinate annual vendor maintenance compliance
•         Maintain accuracy of user licensing
•         May lead and manage projects as assigned
•         Application Administration - Management of application security with creation of user profiles; Generating security groups; Granting user access and coordinating authentication changes as provided by Information Security; and Building queries and reports
•          Application Support and Maintenance - Software integrity; Coordination of database maintenance and reports;  and Professional service negotiations with vendor
•         Application Development - Software updates, upgrades, and application hot-fix testing and implementation; Creating, running and reporting application testing scripts
•         Technical Writing - Customized training manuals and quick reference guides to follow individual office work flows; Application upgrade documentation; Maintenance of Service Level Agreement (SLA)
 
Required Skills:
•         Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science or Computer Engineering (Equivalent experience may be substituted)
•         3-5 Years designing, analyzing, programming and supporting information systems
•         Application troubleshooting, relational database knowledge and writing Structured Query Language (SQL) is required
•         Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) is required
•         Experience with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) is required
•         Must possess warehouse development skills, especially with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
•         Experience with WebTMA Systems is highly desirable
•         Experience with Business Intelligence solutions, such as WebFocus, is desirable
•         Experience with Resource Scheduler from Asure Software is desirable
•         Ability to analyze problems, identify and recommend alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions, and implement recommendations
•         Gathering and translating functional requirements into technical design documents
•         Must have a commitment to customer service, quality and process improvement
•         Strong communication skills are required
•         Desire to professionally develop in various disciplines, such as project management and information security (training opportunities are available and budgeted)
•         Ability to travel to other reserve banks is expected, no international travel
